I boken på vent, som er på vei til meg i posten vet jeg allerede at den kommer til å inneholde sterke scener. Men jeg har stålsatt meg, og håper dette er den verste beskrivelsen jeg kommer til å lese om Comanche-indianernes brutalitet:

Jeg søkte henne opp på Internett og ved å lese denne artikkelen kom jeg over boken Empire of The Summer Moon av S.C. Gwynne. Ifølge artikkelen var det onkelen som fant henne, ikke foreldrene. Historien er filmatisert med John Wayne i en av rollene. Bildet på bokens omslag er sønnen til Cynthia Ann Parker, Quanah, som ble den mest berømte høvding for Comanche-indianerne
